To Vaccinate or Not to Vaccinate...?
Puppies and Vaccinations

In today's world, there is a growing concern about the number of vaccines puppies receive. Are we over-vaccinating? Do puppies really need so many vaccines? These are some of the questions I will explore in my upcoming blogs.

Some vaccines are considered necessary (core), while others are optional (non-core). The decision to administer core vaccines is vital and depends on your lifestyle, geographic location, and the likelihood of certain outbreaks in your area.

Let's dive into Vaccines:

1. Distemper - a contagious and viral disease that affects the respiratory, neurological, and gastrointestinal systems.

2. Adenovirus - provides protection against canine hepatitis, a disease that used to be fatal.

3. Parvovirus - a highly contagious viral disease commonly seen in puppies and young dogs, but can also affect older dogs.

4. Rabies - a viral infection that affects the nervous system.

5. Bordetella - a respiratory disease known as kennel cough.

6. Canine Influenza - a respiratory disease that can affect all dogs.

7. Lyme - caused by a bacteria transmitted by ticks.

8. Leptospirosis - a bacterial disease that can affect dogs and people.

This is just an over view, There are many other things to consider so please stay tuned for my 5 part blog about vaccines.

Luv-N-Laughter Lhasa Apso's

Our first memories of owning Lhasa Apso's included much Love and Laughter. We loved how our puppy cuddled with us and was such a happy dog. She learned to play fetch. She was so smart. We always laughed when she knew her Christmas present and we had to put it high up in the tree.  Throughout the years we have had many dogs and they have always brought Luv-N-Laughter to our lives. We hope that you have a special pet or something that has brought you Love and Laughter as well.
